ERIC
He waited two days before addressing it. âItâ being Alexanderâs statement.
âWhen youâre done, ask me what inspiration you need to finish, and we will do whatever it takes.â
He tried a dozen times to make himself go to Alexanderâs office, make an appointment to show him how much heâd be willing to let the man be in control. He could always say âno,â then. But he couldnât make himself do it.
Instead, he was striding down the long hallway alongside the set of French doors that led out to the garden on his way to a yoga class in the gym when he rounded the corner and ran smack into the man himself.
Alexander chuckled and grabbed him by both arms. âComing or going to meet Rebecca?â He knew Eric so well. Eric spent most of his time with the woman, if not with Alexander. It was as if a piece of him was missing if he wasnât in the same room with at least one of them.
âWant to go to the dungeon with me?â The question just blurted out.
Alexander blinked once. Heâd taken him by surprise. A sliver of satisfaction that Eric had caught him off guard touched a part of him. Another part inside curled into a ball over the fact the question wasnât met with immediate enthusiasm.
Alexander murmured. âTempting.â
âPlease.â He might as well go straight into begging. Eric ran a hand through his hair. âI mean, itâs been a while. And whatever you want, of course.â
âI was on my way to the Library. Weâve got some new people in, and Master R askedââ
âI can help.â He swallowed down any more words. Alexanderâs lids lowered a fraction. To most, the move was imperceptible. To Eric? A note of displeasure from the man, and it sent shivers up his spine. âI mean â¦â
âYes.â Alexanderâs chin raised slightly. âI do believe you can help. Follow.â The man strode past him. Eric had to quicken his steps considerably to keep up with Alexanderâs long strides. At six foot five, he could be down the hallway in seconds.
As soon as they entered the large room, Alexander swung his gaze at Eric. âAny new limits?â
The man had to ask? But, dear God, let his question mean what he thought it did. âNone.â
Alexander nodded once and stepped inside.
The Library wasnât busy. Even if it were, picking out the newcomers, a couple, was easy. A tall brunette in a white cream suit and blue corset peeking out between her lapels picked at her cuticles. Her companion, shorter than her by a good six inches, had his arms crossed. Eric caught him nervously drumming his fingers against his ribcage. Who could blame them?
Club Accendos was one of the few environments in Washington where inhibitions and judgment had no place. Sexual freedom was a given. It could be disconcerting to be surrounded by people exercising that liberty with gusto.
Alexander strode over to the couple. Eric followed.
The woman flushed from head to toe and cast her eyes down as Alexander neared. Her companion gazed directly at Alexander.
